The Heart Behind The Spiritual Habits Project

Walking The Way Together

My Story

I’ve been a Christian for over 40 years – I came to faith when I was just 4 years old. I grew up in a Christian household and I was taught to pray, read my bible, worship God, go to church, memorise Scripture and many other spiritual disciplines – long before I knew they were called spiritual disciplines!

But something happened in my late teens that was to change my life forever. I was at a Christian conference, and I happened to pick up a book called Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster… I absolutely devoured that book – it had a huge impact on my own spiritual growth and sparked a lifelong passion for the spiritual disciplines.

Of course, like most Christians, I’ve had seasons of distraction, busyness and inconsistency…

But each time, in his grace, God has drawn me back and shown me the immense joy and incredible spiritual growth that comes when we make space for him in everyday life through these simple, faithful practices that Christians have relied on for centuries.

Fast forward nearly three decades and on 26th November 2025, God began to speak to me… In a way he has never spoken to me before. He revealed to me a new project that he wanted me to start: a hub of resources to help ordinary Christian rediscover and grow in the spiritual disciplines. And so TSHP was born!

What I Love About This Project

Helping ancient spiritual practices feel doable in modern, busy lives.

The Discipline I find easiest

Reading the Bible. I love opening my Bible every morning and learning from God’s Word

The Discipline I find hardest

Evangelism. I’m learning to be faithful even when it feels uncomfortable.

A Line I Hold Onto

“Spiritual disciplines are not a checklist to earn God’s favour, rather an opportunity for God’s grace.”
